Joyce Ann Burton Tucker

LEWES - Joyce Ann Burton Tucker, age 69, of Lewes, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, after a brief illness. Joyce was born June 4, 1942, in Lewes to the late Courtland H. Sr. and Dorothy Miller Burton. Joyce was a graduate of Wm. C. Jason High School in Georgetown, she then attended Delaware State College in Dover, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree. Joyce had been a Elementary & Middle School teacher during her teaching career. Before retiring Joyce was a CNA working in Healthcare Services, and member of CNA Association. Joyce was a member of Israel UM Church since childhood. She survivors include daughter, Mona Lisa D. Tucker of San, Antonio, Texas; two sons, Wm. L. & Stacey Tucker of Bowie, Md., Michael Tucker of New Castle; four grandchildren; and one brother, Courtland H. Burton Jr. of Bradenton, Fla. Services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at Israel UM Church, Plantation Road, Lewes, where a visitation will be two hours before service. Messenger will be Rev. Gary L. Meekins.
