FENWICK ISLAND - Joy M. Hornyak, of Fenwick Island, formerly of South Point near Assateague Island, Md, passed away Monday, Jan. 5, 2009. She was 31. She enjoyed writing, caring for animals, being outdoors, and was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her parents, Stephen and Shirley Hornyak of Ocean View; her sisters, Julie Schroeck and Susan Ryan, both of Clarksville, and Stephanie Downes of Bethany Beach; and five nephews, three nieces. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bethany Beach, with a graveside service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro, immediately following the Mass. Arrangements by Melson Funeral Services of Ocean View.
