Josephine M. 'Josie' Frazier, 88 TOWNSEND - Josephine M. "Josie" Frazier, age 88, of Townsend, passed away at home on Saturday, May 22, 2010. Born Nov. 25, 1921, to the late Thomas and Elizabeth Menicucci and a graduate of P.S. Dupont High School. Josephine was a member of St. John's-Holy Angels Church, the Absalom Jones and Mamie Warren Senior Centers, a member of the Red Hats, and RSVP. She liked to travel, dance, crochet, and play cards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Charles and Joseph Menicucci; and brother-in-law, Norman Beattie. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Straughn and husband Harvey with whom she lived, and James Frazier and wife Lyn of Bear; three granddaughters, Jamie Straughn, Laurie Evans, and Nicole Frazier; two grandsons, James Frazier and wife Jen, and Matthew Straughn and fiancee Shelley; five great-granddaughters, Cyllee Brown, Taylor Evans, Madison Frazier, Jordan and Morgan Straughn; and one great-grandson, Tyler Evans; one sister, Elizabeth Beattie of Newark; four nieces, two nephews, six great-nieces, and two great-nephews. A special thanks to the aide, volunteer, and nurses for their care and support. A funeral service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 26, at the McCrery Memorial Chapel, 3710 Kirkwood Highway at Duncan Road where friends may call after noon. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.
