HARTLY - Joseph H. Borntreger, Jr. died at his home on Feb. 27, 2017.
Joseph perhaps will be best remembered in his community by customers at Royal Farms and Nik's Super Market at Pearsons Corner. He would help anyone in need and was known for "loving life".
He is survived by his parents, Joseph Henry Borntreger, Sr. and Anna (Hershburger) Borntreger of Hartly; and his son, Joseph Klayton Kinard of Hartly; five sisters, Ada Phillips (Doug) of Millsboro, Arlene Borntreger of Dover, Barbara Willis (Ed) of Hartly, Rose Thomas of Greensboro, NC and Susan Borntreger of Hartly; eight nephews; seven nieces; host of great nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Service will be held 12 noon, Saturday, Mar. 4, 2017 in the Marantha Church, 60 Deer Track Rd., Dover, where the family will begin greeting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts to Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE 19934 to help defray expenses.
