Joseph Burton Simmons Sr.

MILFORD - Joseph Burton Simmons Sr., 36, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at Milford Memorial Hospital. He was born on Nov. 4, 1974, in Milford. He is survived by his lifelong companion and mother of his children, Kelly Greenley of Harrington; two sons, Joseph B. Simmons, Jr. and Ryan B. Simmons; his father, James Burton Simmons, Sr.; his step mother, Beatrix deBoer of Palm Coast, Fla.; his mother-in-law, Diane Romero of Frederica; a brother, James B. Simmons Jr. of Greensboro, Md.; a step brother, Shawn Kelley of Seaford; and ten nieces and nephews. He graduated from Keystone Heights High School in Florida in 1992. He enjoyed the watching his boys play baseball and football. He was a redskins fan and was known for his sense of humor which people loved about him. Funeral services will be held at the Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W. Sunset Ave., Greensboro, on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at 2 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Greensboro Cemetery, Greensboro. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Joey and Ryan's college fund.
