DOVER - Joseph A. DeNigris of Dover, De passed away Wednesday March 27, 2013 at Kent General Hospital. Mr. DeNigris was born October 30, 1925 in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a Paymaster in the United States Navy during WWII. Mr. DeNigris was a bank officer in New York City. He and his family moved to Dover in 1988. Mr. DeNigris was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Dover and volunteered where ever he was needed. He enjoyed attending all his grandchildren's sporting events and attending his grandsons Special Olympic Events. After his retirement he and his wife traveled all over the world. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Giants. Mr. DeNigris was preceded in death by his wife Anna Marchak DeNigris, March 6, 2012; son, Michael DeNigris; brother, Rocco; sisters, Erma and Rose. He is survived by his grandsons, Christopher DeNigris and Michael DeNigris both of Dover; and granddaughter, Allison Herrera; great grandchildren, Lincoln and Caelan DeNigris. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday April 2, 2013 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover, DE. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening April 1, 2013 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.100, Dover. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
