GEORGETOWN - Jonnie Reid, also know as Joanie, departed this life on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 43. She was born to the late Catherine and Robert Lee Stephens on Jan. 27, 1968, in Fairmont, N.C. She attended schools in Cheriton, Va., and later attended schools in the Indian River School District. She was licensed as a certified Childcare provider with the state of Delaware. After working for over 10 years with Townsend Poultry in Millsboro, she became self-employed opening her own daycare, Kid-N-Play. Joanie was a faithful member of Tabernacle of Praise, Healing and Deliverance Ministries in Seaford, under the leadership of pastor Richmond Jennings and Co-pastor Mary Jennings. She loved the Lord and was a dedicated Usher, Missionary, and minister. She sang soprano in the choir, was a Praise and Worship leader, youth advisor, vice- president of the Pastor's Aide. She was also the Armor Bearer to her co-pastor. She leaves precious memories with her husband, Mark Reid of Georgetown; two daughters, Dianna and Marquita Reid; one granddaughter, Camauri (Cece) Reid; four sisters, Geraldine (Terial) Lewis of Lancaster, Pa., Rose Baine of Frankford, Annie Stephens of Georgetown, and Lisa Stephens of Lincoln; four brothers, Richard (Annette) Stephens of Salisbury, Md., Robert Stephens of Seaford, Albert (Felicia) Stephens of Utica, N.Y., and Edward (Carla) Stevens of Lincoln; one aunt Alease Stephens of Virginia; in-laws, Pastor Richmond and Mary Jennings; three brothers-in-law, John (Tamar) Williams, Timothy Hudson, Dwayne Hudson; five sisters-in-law, Regina (Jamie) Hawley, Tamara Williams, Dena Williams, Veronica Purnell, and Isadora (Carl) Johnson. She leaves her best friends, Diann, Eugenia, and Connie. She will be missed by a host on nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends Service will be 1 p.m., Saturday April 2, 2011, at St. Johns 2nd Baptist Church, Millsboro, with a viewing at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All service are entrusted to Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Millsboro.
