DOVER - John R. Reish Jr., 68, of Delaware, formerly of Clarion, Pa., died in an automobile accident Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, in Bigler, Clearfield County, while on his way back from the Penn State football game to Clarion. Born Feb. 19, 1941, in Lock Haven, he was the son of John R. Reish Sr. and Arvilla White Reish. He was married on Nov. 30, 1963, to the former Jane Turner, who survives. Mr. Reish graduated from the Dover High School. He also graduated from the Lock Haven Teachers College where he played football. He was a former Clarion Area High School health and physical education teacher. He was also athletic director and coached wrestling and football at the high school. He was offensive line and special teams coach for the Clarion University's football team from 1977-1994. Mr. Reish was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Dover. He was also a member of the Northwest Mountain Coaches Association and American Legion Post 66. Mr. Reish was an avid Penn State and Steelers fan. He enjoyed music, dancing, and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Amy Hurrelbrink and husband, Tom, of Miola, Pa., Lara Bellistri and husband, Joe, of Bethany Beach, and Brock Reish and wife, Amy, of Akron, Ohio; grandchildren, Hannah, Finnegan, and Lena Bellistri of Bethany Beach; and step grandchild, Caroline Bellistri of France. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Deborah Ellsworth. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion. Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday in the funeral home. The family requests that memorials and donations be made to the South Coastal Library, 43 Kent Avenue Bethany Beach DE 19930; Wesley United Methodist Church, 209 South State Street Dover DE 19901; or to a charity of one's choice.
