LEWES - John H. Carter Jr., 31, of Lewes, died suddenly on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011 in Laurel. Born in Baltimore, Md., on Jan. 18, 1980, he was the son of John H. Carter Sr and Cissy (Kammerzell) Carter. John graduated from Cape Henlopen High School in 1998. John was an avid sports enthusiast who loved baseball and football especially the Orioles and Ravens. He also enjoyed playing softball for the X-Factors in Salisbury. In addition to his parents, John is survived by one son, Thomas Carter of Lewes; two daughters, Natali and Alexis Carter of Long Neck; sister, Jennifer A. Carter of Lewes; sister-in-law, Dawn Carter; former wife, Clementine Carter; and nephew, Lucas Scott Carter. He was preceded in death by his brother, Matthew Paul Carter in 2011. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at 2 p.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins- Lodge Chapel, 16961 King Highway, Lewes, where friends may call from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The John H. Carter Children Memorial Fund, C/O Karen Mumford, County Bank 19927 Shuttle Road, Rehoboth Beach 19971.
