Edwards, Sr., 68 ROCK HALL - John Daniel Edwards, Sr. died at Anne Arundel Medical Center on August 20th, 2013. He was 68 years old. John was born at the Chestertown Hospital to the late John C. Edwards and Bernice Ashley Edwards. He graduated in 1963 from Rock Hall High School and then went to work for David A. Bramble for several years as a heavy machine operator. In 1964 he married his sweetheart Jo Ann Linder. He worked for Rolcom Pile Driving and was a partner in Robert O. Linder, Inc. and then later for Cianbro and Kent County but his heart and soul was in working on the water. He was a very proud member of the Maryland Waterman's Association and the Chestertown Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He passionately supported the Kent County Telephone Reassurance Program where he enjoyed making new friends. When asked what his hobbies were he would reply, "my grandchildren." He loved them more than life. John loved the water and built two workboats, the Bernice E for his father that they worked out of for almost 40 years and then later the Kathi Jayne which was his own boat named after his daughters. John enjoyed living his entire life in the best neck in Rock Hall - Piney Neck. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jo Ann; an uncle, Emory "Pie" Edwards; his sister, Lynda Baker and her husband Wayne; and three children, John D. Edwards, Jr. and his wife Jeanne, Kathi Naumann and her husband Chris and Jaynie Orr and her husband Scott. John had seven grandchildren, Hilary, Dylan, Kylee, Caitlin, Mitchell, Jillian & Ashlyn.
