DOVER - John D. Leggett, 83, of Dover, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, in the V.A. Medical Center, Elsmere. Mr. Leggett was born in White Plains, N.Y., and had owned a burglar alarm company there for many years, before retiring, and relocating to Delaware. He was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Constance "Connie" Leggett, who died in 2008. He is survived by his step-son, Louis M. Plattie Jr. and his wife Peggy, of Congers, N.Y. ; a brother-in-law, Glen Downs, of Bethany Beach; and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held privately.
