John Arthur Hayes, 86 MILFORD - John Arthur Hayes, of Milford, died Sunday, June 20, 2010, at the Country Rest Home, Greenwood, with Compassionate Care Hospice in attendance. He was 86. Mr. Hayes was born in Milford, son of the late Robert Ira and Serena Hobbs Hayes. He was a member of the US Army Air Corp in serving in Europe, thereafter, during World War II. After the war, he worked for Steiners and Co. for over 45 years as a Maintenance Foreman. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, James Hayes, and his wife Katherine Everline Wagner. He is survived by three daughters, Linda C. Hayes of Milford, Nancy L. Meredith and her husband Jack of Lincoln, and Kathy McGee and her husband Michael of Milford; four grandchildren, John Meredith and Matthew Meredith of Lincoln, Adam McGee of Boston, and Daniel McGee of New York City; and a brother-in-law, Luther Wagner and his wife Helen of Felton. Funeral Services were Friday, June 25, 2010, 1 p.m., in the Chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, where friends called from noon to 1 p.m. Interment was in Camden Odd Fellows Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Calvary United Methodist Church, 301 SE Front Street, Milford, DE 19963.
