John A. Tyndall GEORGETOWN - John A. Tyndall, lifelong resident of Georgetown, went home to be with the Lord, on Monday, March 29, 2010, at his daughter's home surrounded by his loving and caring family. John was born Oct. 6, 1927, in Georgetown, son of the late Edwin Herbert and Elizabeth (Swain) Tyndall. He was a supervisor with Swift & Company in Georgetown, retiring in 1977 after 29 years. He then went to work as a security guard with Sussex County retiring in 1997. John was a member of Wesley U.M. Church and Improbed Order of Red Men Nanticoke Tribe #21. He enjoyed family vacations and especially his three grandchildren. He was always ready to enjoy NASCAR and baseball games. His enthusiasm was rooting for Jeff Gordon number 24 of NASCAR and the Philadelphia Phillies. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, L. Paul Tyndall; a brother-in-law, Harvey F. Donovan, Sr.; and a nephew, Harvey F. Donovan, Jr. John was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife Helen (Sellers) Tyndall. They were married on Oct. 6, 1950, and she passed away on Sept. 17, 2000. John is survived by a daughter and son-in-law with whom he lived, Pat and Bob Millman, of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Carin E. Millman and fiancé Adam Doughty of Florida, Curtis R. Millman and Colleen M. Millman; a sister, E. Ruth Donovan; and sister-in-law, Ann Tyndall, all of Georgetown; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be 2 p.m., Monday, April 5, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton, where friends may call after noon. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown. Flowers are accepted, or contributions can be made to Wesley U.M. Church, 102 E. Laurel Street, Georgetown, DE 19947; or Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
