DOWNS CHAPEL - John A. Pratt, Sr., "Mickey" passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Thursday, Mar. 2, 2017.
He was born on Jun 25, 1934 in Kenton, the son of the late, John and Minnie Pratt.
Mickey coached baseball for the Smyrna-Clayton Little League, was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles, and enjoyed watching many sports. He loved fox and rabbit hunting with his son, Bobby. He also enjoyed racing pigeons, pony and horse racing, and visiting the Delaware State fair, to watch his kids and grandkids show. He was a fan of Ford trucks, and had a tremendous sweet tooth. Most of all, Mickey cherished his time spent with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John A. Pratt, Jr., "Little Mickey."
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Roberta; his children, Julian "Lee" Pratt (Pamela), of Clayton, Minnie "Faye" Pleasanton, of Petersburg, Cathy Brown (Billy Thompson), of Marydel, Robert "Bobby" Snyder, of Downs Chapel, Krisy Campbell (Mike), of Clayton, Rita Fabi (Ronny), of Downs Chapel, and Bobbie Jo Brown (Jason), of Downs Chapel; his daughter-in-law, Sandra Tucker, of Sandtown; his sister, Clementine Wooton, of Magnolia, DE; 13 grand children; 9 great-grandchildren; and a large extended family of nieces; nephews; and cousins.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, Mar. 5, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St., Smyrna.
A second viewing will be held on Monday, Mar. 6, 2017 at 10 a.m.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow in Sudlersville cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to, Downs Chapel Church, in C/O Ginger Jones, 6703 Sudlersville Rd., Marydel, MD 21649.
