Joan C. Warren, 76

DOVER - Joan C. Warren, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2009, in the Heartland Hospice House, Wilmington. She was 76. She was born on Sept. 28, 1932 in Wilmington, daughter of the late Francis and Helena (O'Rourke) Wells. Joan had worked as a secretary for the United Methodist Peninsula Conference. She enjoyed camping, traveling and being with family and friends. Joan was a member of the Magnolia Methodist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Ralph A. Warren; and a granddaughter, Kristin Kelly Metz of Magnolia. She is survived by her son, Gregory A. Warren and his wife Susan, of Hockessin and their two sons, Hunter C. Warren of New London, Conn., and Spenser A. Warren, of Hockessin; her daughter, Gail Metz and her husband William, of Magnolia and their children Erik Metz of Norfolk, Va., Michelle McGriffin of Lumberton, N.J., Kendelyn Metz and Connor Metz, both of Magnolia; a sister, Patricia Ashley, of Middletown; and a great-granddaughter, Erin H. Metz, daughter of Erik and Lauren Metz. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call one hour earlier.
