Joan A. Niblett MILFORD - Joan A. Niblett, 65, of Milford died, surrounded by her loving family, at Delaware Hospice, Thursday April 22, 2010, after a long courageous battle with breast cancer. She is preceeded in death by her father Alfred R. Mitchell. She was a homemaker and previously worked at Wilmington Trust Company and American Finance in customer service. She graduated from Milton High School class of 1962. She was the treasurer of New Life Baptist Church for almost 29 years and was very active in planning events for the church and decorating. She was devoted to her grandchildren and loved watching them play sports. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, crafts and she enjoyed traveling especially hiking to see waterfalls. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Edwin Niblett; her mother, Mildred Mitchell, three children; Craig Niblett, Christina Oplinger and her husband Will and Cathy Sharp and her husband David; one brother, George Mitchell and his wife Barbara; and one sister Janet Carey and her husband David; and five grandchildren, Carri, Cayla and Tyler Niblett, Caden Oplinger and Devyn Sharp. Funeral services will be Monday April 26, at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Berry Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford Delaware, where friends may call from 11a.m. to 1p.m. for visitation. Interment will be at Milford Community Cemetery, Milford Delaware. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to DE Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 or New Life Baptists Church, Rt. 113, Milford, DE.
