GEORGETOWN - Jo Ann West, 67, of Georgetown, died at home surrounded by her family on March 24, 2011. Born in 1943, she was the daughter of the late James P. Lofland and Margaret Masten. She was a retired server in the restaurant business, and was an eternal optimist. She was a member of the Delmarva Antique Bottle club, and loved antiquing. She was a mother above all else, and an animal lover. She always said to kids having a hard time "go outside and run around the house a few times, you'll feel better." She didn't believe in moping around. She is survived by her husband Kenneth P. West; four children, Arthur Rickards; Faith Reed and her husband Don, Joseph Rickards, and his companion Holly, and Casey West and her partner, Lori Bailey; one sister, Shirley Lofland; a brother, James A. Lofland and his wife Barbara; four grandchildren, Jordan and Taylor Reed, and Ashley and David Bare; numerous extended family, cousins and friends; and special friend and caregiver, Mike Hicks. Also survived by special canine friends, Star, Oliver and Buddy and many cats and horses. A time for visitation was held at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, on Tuesday evening, March 29, 2011, from 6 till 7:30 p.m. Interment will be private. Arrangements by Watson Funeral Home Millsboro.
