HARTLY - Jerome Edward Brown, Sr., of Hartly, passed away Friday, August 28, 2009, in Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was born April 17, 1952, in Upper Darby, Pa., son of the late Robert and Margaret (Chick) Brown. Jerome was employed with Clarks Pools, Bear, as an equipment operator. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert T. Brown; and a sister, Maryann Farrell. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Brown; four children, Jerome E. Brown Jr. and his wife Chrissy of Frederica, Justin C. Brown and his wife Renee of Milford, Francis A. Blevins and his wife Jessica of Wilmington, and Jeremy T. Brown of Hartly; a brother, Richard Brown of Hartly; two sisters, Cookie Goodin of Springfield, Ohio, and Margaret Layton of Dayton, Ohio; grandchildren, Kayla, Tyler and Madison; and an extended family of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be 6 p.m, Tuesday, Sept. 1, at the Lighthouse Christian Center, 662 Milford-Harrington Hwy., Milford, where friends may call from 4 p.m. until service time. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the church. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
