CLAYTON - Jeramie Schmiesing, of Clayton, died Friday, June 5, 2009, due to a car accident. He was 27. He was born Jan. 25, 1982, to Michael Schmiesing and Nancy Blom (Schmiesing). Jeramie worked as a self employed contractor. He loved to tinker with cars and woodworking. Jeramie was very intelligent and extremely computer savvy. He enjoyed flower gardening and landscaping. He enjoyed being outdoors and hunting. Jeramie was extremely proud of his body modifications especially his tattoos, but his biggest joy was spending time with his family especially time with his daughter. Jeramie was preceded in death by grandmother, Evelyn Blom; grandfather, George Schmiesing; grandfather, Jack Huerd; uncles, Steven and Kelly Blom; and cousin, Travis Weispfennig. He is survived by his parents, Michael Schmiesing and his wife Carmen of Minnesota and SSG. Nancy Blom currently deployed in Iraq; his lifelong companion and mother of his daughter, Cassandra McCoy; his daughter, Cortni Schmiesing, both of Clayton; his sister, Chana Schmiesing of Dover. He is also survived by many grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A Celebration of his life will be from 3-5 p.m., Friday, June 12, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt. 10), Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes contributions be made to the Jeramie Schmiesing Memorial Fund, for education of his daughter, Cortni, c/o TD Bank, 1035 Forrest Avenue, Dover, DE 19904. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
