Jeffrey Allen Muncey, known affectionately as Jeff, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024, in Ellendale, DE. Born on June 21, 1965, in Milford, DE, Jeff was the cherished son of the late John E. and Gail S. (Rider) Muncey.
His life was a bright beacon of love and joy to all who knew him.
For over 40 years, Jeff worked as a truck driver for various places, including Milford Fertilizer, Habnab, Coverdale, as well as running 3 of his own trucks. He also was a trusted truck driver for Art Collins, where he formed lasting friendships and bonds within the local community. A man of many interests, he relished time spent at the Harrington Casino, skillfully racing stock-cars, fishing on tranquil waters, and grilling to perfection. Yet, his favorite moments were those spent surrounded by the laughter and love of his granddaughters.
Jeff is survived by a loving family that includes his son, Jordon Dutton and wife Amanda Nordberg; the mother of his son, Nicole Dutton-Muncey; and his adoring siblings, Shirley Muncey, Johnny Muncey, Debbie Morris, and Joey Muncey. His granddaughters, Addison and Willow, were the apples of his eye, and his devotion to them was unparalleled. Not to be forgotten, his loyal dog, Chevy, was a steadfast companion.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, May 18, 2024, with visitation beginning at 9:00am in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, DE 19963. Interment will follow at St. Johnstown Cemetery in Greenwood.
