LINCOLN - Jeanette F. Newcomb, age 61, of Lincoln, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at Bayhealth, Milford. She was born in Salisbury, Md., on Sunday, Sept. 24, 1950, daughter of the late Robert W., Jr. and Mary L. (Cadd) Pond. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Butch Pond. Mrs. Newcomb has been a resident of Lincoln since 1989. She was raised on Third Street in Lewes and later moved to Slaughter Beach. While living in Slaughter Beach, she and her former husband George Moore, Sr. worked on the commercial fishing boats during the peak seasons. She loved to sew and was a seamstress for the Milford Stitching Company for 10 years. She loved to garden and worked for a time with a greenhouse in Lincoln. She loved woodworking, crafts and was the "Queen" of yard sales. She was a very giving women and was always there to take care of everyone, before herself. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt and will be sorely missed by all that knew her. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Patrick A. Newcomb of Lincoln; six children, Tanya Reed and husband Michael of Lincoln, Tammy Hudson of Pennsylvania, Becky Cakar of Newark, Md., Mary Moore of Lewes, James Hudson II of Ocean City, Md., and Tonya Hudson of Lincoln; one stepson, George Moore and wife Melinda of Wilmington; five siblings, Jerry Pond and wife Nancy of North Carolina, Ralph Pond of Felton, Linda Byington of Idaho, Roberta "Fay" Lituski of Felton, and Donnie Vaughn of Annapolis, Md.; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes. The family will greet friends beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
