DOVER - Jean V. Gillon passed away Monday Jan. 26, 2015 at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, within hours of her husband of 63 years, Hugh W. Gillon, Jr. Mrs. Gillon was born January 30, 1931 in Richwood, West Virginia, but grew up as a farm girl in the Catskill Mountains, N.Y., to the late John and Frances Kovsca. She had worked as a secretary for Wesley College for 20 years retiring in 1995. Mrs. Gillon enjoyed needlework, cake decorating, swimming, bicycling and daily walks with her friends, but especially spending time with her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sister, Josephine Dragoo and brothers, Harold and William Kovsca. She is survived by her daughters, Lynda Rae Gannon of Marydel, Del., Caryl G. Young (Robert) of Newark, Del.; sons, Hugh W. Gillon, III of Dover, Del. and Patrick J. Gillon of Miramar, Fla.; sister, Frances Hribar of Dover, Del.; grandchildren, H. Joseph Gannon, III (Brie), Garrett M. Gannon (Erin), Erin Young Krause (Louis) and Craig G. Young; great grandchildren, H. Joseph Gannon, IV, Carmella Gannon, Tripp Gannon, twins, Briggs and Finnley Gannon and Louis C. Krause, V. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015 at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Friends may call from 12-2. Interment will be at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. For their warm support and kindness, the family would like to offer special thanks to those who cared for her. The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Rhoads Pavilion, and Delaware Hospice. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S.
