LINCOLN - Jean L. Shamp, of Lincoln, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was 73. Mrs. Shamp became of resident of Delaware in 1958, after moving down from Pennsylvania. She worked as a packer and operator for Playtex for over 23 years, retiring in 1999. Her favorite hobbies included swimming and dancing. She also liked to entertain family and friends while sipping coffee around the kitchen table, and keeping you in stitches from laughing so hard. Mrs. Shamp always put everybody else first. She was an amazing one of a kind person, very loving and kind, giving, and protective of her family. She will be sorely missed. In addition to her parents, Francis James and Margaret Delozier, she was preceded in death by brother, William Delozier; and a sister, Delores Drury. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Gerald E. Shamp; daughters, Deborah McGuire of Lorton, Va., Tracey McDade of Felton, and Audrey Wegner of Lincoln; sisters, Mary Fyock of Sidman, Pa., and Patty Hall of Laughlintown, Pa.; eight grandchildren, and ten great- grandchildren. Memorial Service will be noon, Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, where a visitation will be one hour prior.
