Jane Y. Brooks, 87

DOVER - Jane Y. Brooks, 87, of Dover, passed away Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at Capital Nursing Center, Dover. She was born on May 13, 1922, in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late Frank and Hortense Dean Yhost. She was a member of The Presbyterian Church of Dover where she was a Deacon. She is a former teacher of handicapped children at PDDN. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Thomas Q. Brooks, Sr. of Dover; son and his wife, Thomas Q. and Bonnie Brooks, Jr. of Lewes; son and his wife, Robert D. and Annie Brooks of Seattle, Wash.; daughter and her husband, Wendy B. and Mike Lynch of Dover; grandsons, Jeremy and Joshua Brooks; and granddaughters, Michelle and Jennifer Christensen. Celebration of life Services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 10, at The Presbyterian Church of Dover, 54 South State Street, Dover. Burial will be at the Presbyterian Church Yard on South Governors Ave., Dover. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., today, Sept., 9, at the Trader Funeral Home in Dover. The family request that memorial contributions be given to The Presbyterian Church of Dover, 54 South State Street, Dover, DE 19901; or Alzheimer's Disease, 240 North James Street, Suite 100-A, Newport, DE 19804; or The Kent County SPCA.
