Jamie D. Starke

DOVER - Jamie D. Starke, of Dover, passed away Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 52. He was born on Feb. 25, 1958, in Cuba, son of the late Richard and Flora (Delano) Starke. Jamie worked for Redners for the last two years as a meat cutter. Previously he had worked for Sam's Club, BJ's, Metro and Food Lion for over 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, listening to music and was a Civil War buff. Jamie was also preceded in death by a brother, Brant Starke. He is survived by his companion of 10 years, Carol Thompson; two brothers, Todd Starke and his wife Carol of Camden, and Richard C. Starke, Jr. and his Patti of Minnesota; a sister, Carlene May of Arkansas; granddaughter, Trinity Mosley of Cheswold; and his best friends, Ralph Palmer and Dickie Cornell. Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11, at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Immediately following the visitation, there will be a fellowship and refreshments at the residence. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the funeral home to help with expenses. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
