Hollingsworth, 79 MAGNOLIA - James William Hollingsworth, 79, of Magnolia, passed away in his home on September 25, 2014. James was affectionately known by many as "Holly". He was born in De Moines, Iowa to the late Charles and Anne Hollingsworth. James was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Robert and John; and his infant son. James proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for over 20 years, retiring as an Aircraft Electrician, and Repair Technician. James was a hard worker, and liked to stay busy, so he began a second career as a Corrections Officer for the State of Delaware, eventually retiring from that position as well. He remained close with his comrades from Dover AFB. They often enjoyed gathering for an early morning breakfast, and a round or two of golf. James was a simple man, with a great sense of humor. He liked watching NCIS, and old John Wayne movies. He loved his family above all, and cherished spending time with them. James leaves behind Viola, his loving wife of 62 years; son, James and his wife, Lori Ann; daughter, Gayle; grandchildren, LaDawn, Veronica (Nathan), Jamie (Liam), and Ashley; great grandchildren, Jennifer, Ritchie, Bradley, and Jacob; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will take place at 1 p.m., on Monday, September 29, 2014, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, Delaware 19934, where friends may gather one hour prior. Burial will follow services at Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. Letters of condolences can be sent via pippinfh@comcast.net
