James W. Goldsmith Sr., 67

DOVER - James W. Goldsmith Sr., passed away Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, in his home, with family in Dover. He was 67. He was born on April 1, 1941 in Pueblo, Colo., to the late Lloyd and Billie McIlvane Goldsmith. He was a member of VFW Post 3238 in Camden, the American Legion Fox Post in Dover, and the Dover Art League. Mr. Goldsmith is a 20 year USAF retiree. He worked security at Kent General Hospital and ILC. He loved to fish and paint. He is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Charlene B. Goldsmith. He is survived by his wife, Judy A. Goldsmith, of Dover; son, James W. Goldsmith Jr., of Magnolia; brothers, Rick Goldsmith, of Calif., and Gorden Goldsmith, of Colo.; sister, Leah Ray Palmer, of Colo.; grandson, James W. Goldsmith III, of Magnolia; and granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Hamilton, of Magnolia. Memorial Services will be 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 2009 at Trader Funeral Home in Dover. Burial will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro. Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 2009 at the Trader Funeral Home in Dover. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to American Diabetes Association, 100 West 10th St., Suite 102, Wilmington, DE 19801; and/or American Heart Association, 1151 Walker Road, Suite 202, Dover, DE 19904.
