HARTLY - James Theodore Blythe passed away peacefully on Oct. 2, 2016, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. Jim was born on Jan. 21, 1941 in Upland, Pa., to the late James and Mildred Blythe. He was also preceded in death by his two precious grandbabies, who welcomed him home with open arms. Jim worked as a Powerhouse Engineer Mechanic for Playtex Industries, where he was employed until retirement. He also proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. In 1971, he met and married Joyce, and they were blessed with 45 years together. Jim enjoyed fishing, reading his bible daily, and attending services at Maranatha Fellowship in Dover. He leaves behind his loving wife, Joyce; son, Dr. James Owen Blythe and his wife, Jaime; his granddaughter, Rebecca Lynn, who was his one and only sunshine; and a large circle of friends. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, on Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934, where friends may call two hours prior. Burial will follow services at Sharon Hills Memorial Park in Dover. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
