
DOVER - James T. Graver, ETCS, USN, RET passed away Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017 at Kent General Hospital.
Mr. Graver was born March 10, 1939 in West Chester, Pa. to the late Joseph S. Graver and Emma Carpenter Graver. He graduated from Culpeper County High School. Mr. Graver received his Associates Degree in Social Science from Sioux Falls College and his Bacholors Degree from Shepherd College in West Virginia.
He served in the United States Navy Submarine Service during the Vietnam War in engineering technology from 1957 until 1976. After his military career he worked for BH&C Computing in computer sales and service for 19 years retiring in 1999. He was a member of Fleet Reserve Association, U.S. Submarines Veterans Association, American Legion, and Disabled Veterans of America. .
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Dolores Bell Graver and his 2nd wife Lola Claire Kelly Graver; his sister Barbara H. Settle; grandson, Nicholas Christian Mackey and great-grandson, Mickey.
He is survived by his sons, Terrence L. Mackey, William E. Mackey, Robert J. Mackey, Thomas J. Nicklaus "aka James T. Graver, Jr." and Jon Graver; daughters, Marlene D. Dawson, Donna Jean Buckner, Joy T. Burn and Pamela A. Mays; brothers, Robert C. Graver and Raymond J. Graver; sisters, Faye Griffin, Margaret E. Taylor, Virginia L. Hage and Kathryn A. Burgess; 30 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 12p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
