MILFORD, DE - James Russell Malone passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Bayhealth Sussex Campus, Milford. James was born in Plentywood, MT, the son of the late Richard R. and Betty J. (Peirce) Malone.
He was employed as the chief custodian at Lake Forest High School. He previously retired from U.S. Cold Storage in Milford after 20 years. He was an avid Washington Redskins and Baltimore Orioles fan. James enjoyed playing golf and watching NASCAR racing. He participated in a fantasy football league with his nephews as well. James loved life, his family, his friends and his dogs. He always enjoyed doing things with his family. James will be remembered as Uncle Dog by so many.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Lorraine (Knox) Malone; a brother, Richard Malone (Sherri); a sister, Karen Malone Clifton (Steve); three nephews, Stephen Clifton (Kristyn), Rhett Malone (Brittany), and Peirce Clifton (Lexi); three great nephews, Callahan Clifton, McKellen Clifton, and William Malone; his aunt, Barbara Peirce; and his beloved dog, Opie.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 12 - 2 pm on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford. In honor of James' memory, the family requests that you wear your favorite sports jersey to the celebration of life.
