REHOBOTH BEACH - James "Barney" Norton, of Rehoboth Beach, formerly of Penns Grove, N.J., passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. James came into this life the son of Pete (Leon) and Norma Norton Sr. He is survived by his wife, Judy King Norton of Rehoboth Beach. He is also survived by his siblings, Shirley, Leon, Richard, Mary Jane, Robert, Nancy, and Gary. Surviving children include, Deanna, Kimmie, James, Ashley, Paul and wife Shelly, and Tracy. James retired from the Operating Engineers Union 825. He was a member of Elks Lodge Post 1358, Penns Grove, N.J . James, known as Barney to all who knew him, always had a project in the works. He could often be found puttering around his home, known as Barneyland. Every morning he could be found at one of the local retailers buying his daily lottery. He was there for all with his humor and kind words. He loved his cat Cinder, NASCAR racing and his beloved wife Judy. At the request of Barney, no services will be held and his body has been donated to Anatomy Gifts Registry of Maryland in hopes that he could help others. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the SPCA of Georgetown or the Maryland Kidney Foundation.
