DOVER - James Milton Hanna of Dover passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Kent General Hospital. He was 84. Mr. Hanna was born March 15, 1932 in Cherokee, Alabama. He was a career airman, teacher, waterman, and farmer. Mr. Hanna was the author of sixteen books, including nine about the Delaware Bay. He enjoyed the outdoors, good friends, his church and especially family gatherings. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances E. Hanna, 2011. He is survived and deeply loved by his sister, Freida Harrison and her husband Kenneth; four children, James S. Hanna and wife, Linda, Rena Metzger and husband, Dennis, Nora Howell and husband, Glen, John Hanna and Gem Leonardo; daughter-in-law, Beverly Hanna; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 12 p.m., Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Faith Community Church, 2240 S. Dupont Highway, Camden, DE 19934.
