Jim Satterfield passed away on December 7, 2022. Jim was born July 19, 1938, in Dover, DE to the late James M. Satterfield Jr. and Hester (Knight) Dolan.
Jim graduated from Dover High School in 1956 and on June 5, 1959 married Blanche "Sis" Webb, his loving wife. Jim worked for the Delaware Department of Transportation in the Material's and Research section as a materials inspector for over 34 years retiring in June of 1991. He spent eight years as a member of the Delaware National Guard and eight years as an umpire with the Camden Wyoming Little League. He also spent a number of years as a member of the Caesar Rodney Football Boosters. Jim was a member of the Union Masonic Lodge Number 7 in Dover for 46 years. He was also a member of the Board of Directors for the Delaware State Fair for over 35 years.
Jim enjoyed serving with his Masonic Brothers on various community outreach and volunteer programs and spending time at the Masonic Lodge. He also enjoyed staying at the Delaware State Fair for almost 60 years and serving as a member of the Board of Directors working numerous projects related to improvements at the Fair. He was an avid horseman and enjoyed horse racing, working outside, watching football and baseball and above all else spending time with family and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sis Satterfield; his son, Jim Satterfield, IV (wife Sondra); his grandson, Kyle Satterfield (wife Emma); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service Thursday, January 5, 2022, 6 pm at Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming, DE; where friends may call beginning at 4 pm.
