James H. Kossman MAGNOLIA - James H. Kossman of Magnolia died Thursday June 24, 2010 at home surrounded by his family. He was 69. Mr. Kossman was born June 9, 1941 in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Alfred Kossman and Joan Hoffman Kossman. He worked for Kent General Hospital as a HVAC technician for 30 years retiring in 2004. Mr. Kossman was a member of the Magnolia United Methodist Church, the Elks Club #1903, in Dover and the NRA. Mr. Kossman enjoyed assembling and restoring guns, rifles and muzzleloaders. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, bowling in leagues, was a Tony Stewart and a Philadelphia Eagles football fan. Mr. Kossman was extremely patriotic, loved being with his family, going on family vacations and going to his children and grandchildren's sporting events. Mr. Kossman is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jeanette Carey Kossman of Magnolia; son, James A. Kossman and his wife Debbie of Smyrna; daughter, Joan C. Sharp of Greenwood; stepsons, Keith E. Vautard and his wife Karen and Scott D. Vautard and his wife Nicole all of Magnolia; sister, Linda Kossman of Bayonne, NJ; grandchildren, John, Adam and Alexis Kossman, Jessica, Heather, Logan and Colton Vautard; great grandchildren, Haydon, A.J., Jayla and Mason. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday July 1, 2010 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday evening and 10-11am Thursday morning. Interment will be at Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Seasons Hospice Delaware, 220 Continental Drive, Suite, 101, Newark, DE 19713. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at torbertfuneral.com.
