DOVER - James G. Erwin passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012 in Kent General Hospital, Dover. James was born on April 8, 1928 in Flora, Ill,, son of the late Otis and Edna (Lewis) Erwin. He had worked as a traffic manager for G.C. Murphy in the trucking department. James was a man of great faith and was always devoted to his church and church family. He was an avid sports fan especially basketball. Besides his parents, James is preceded in death by a brother, Taft Erwin; sisters, Bernice Griffy, Lenora Hackney, Juanita Marberry, Marjorie Kerr and Kathryn Colborn. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Marian Erwin; a daughter, Pamela R. Harrison and her husband Robert; grandchildren, James W. Dick and his wife Dawn, Stacy A. Respoli and her husband John, and Kathleen E. Hood and her husband Robert; great- grandchildren, Thomas J. Dick, Charlotte M. Dick, Nicholas J. Respoli, Jacob L. Respoli and Madison E. Hood; brother, Robert Erwin; and a sister, Carole Metz; and a host of nieces and nephews. Service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE., where friends may gather starting at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
