STILL POND, Md. - James Franklin Greenwood, of Still Pond, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at the Chester River Hospital Center in Chestertown. He was 93. James F. Greenwood was born June 28, 1916, in Still Pond, the son of the late James Carson Greenwood and Ethel Meeks. As a young man he worked on local farms and delivered ice, he then worked as a welder for the Philadelphia shipyard before beginning his career at Aberdeen Proving Ground. Mr. Greenwood retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground in 1973. He was a member of the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Maryland, Grand Commondery of Knights Templar of Maryland, the Chester Lodge AF and AM No.115, the Chestertown Chapter No.086 Eastern Star and a member of Still Pond United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Nellie Greenwood of Still Pond; one son, James C. Greenwood and wife Nancy of Worton; and one grandson, Bryan Greenwood of Chestertown. Services will be 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 5, at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Rd., Chestertown. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be held in Still Pond Cemetery in Still Pond. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to Still Pond United Methodist Church, P.O.
