HOUSTON - James F. "Frankie" Marvel, of Houston, died Saturday, March 21, 2009, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 54. Frankie was a bus driver for DART for five years and was a member of the Harrington Moose Lodge 534. He was born in Milford, son of Anna Mae (Jefferson) Marvel and the late John "Buck" Marvel. In addition to his father, Frankie's wife, Betty Marvel preceded him in death. In addition to his mother, Frankie is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Ross Matlack of Houston; brothers and sisters, Norma Hendon of Brule, Nev., Pat and Dallas Lawter of Dover, Donald and Sharon Marvel of East Hartford, Conn., Gretchel Marvel of San Antonio, Texas, David and Janet Marvel of Harrington, John and Inge Marvel of Lincoln, Lora Mae and Jim Logan of Felton and Mary Navalaney, also of Lincoln; and sister-in-law, Pat Freeman and husband Jr. of Houston. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, Memorial Fulfillment Center, Kent County Delaware, 777 Penn Center Blvd, Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15235.
