James Driggus

CAMDEN - James Driggus, departed this life peacefully on Saturday, August 18, 2012 comforted by his wife at home. He was born on February 1, 1930 in Camden, Del., to the late Florence and John Driggus. He was a member and Trustee of Bibleway Temple Institutional COGIC of Dover, Del. He retired from Dover Air Force Base civil service after 33 years. He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Phyllis E. Driggus; a daughter, Jacklyn Driggus, and adopted daughter, Jeana Bell; a brother, Nelson Driggus; two sisters, Florence Brown and Harriet Gilmore; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a "special" daughter, Dorothy Bryant. He was preceded in death by a son, James E. Driggus; a daughter, Joyce M. Green; and four brothers, Walter Driggus, John Driggus, Harry Driggus, and Robert Driggus. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2012. Viewing will be from 9 to 11 a.m. that same day at Bibleway Temple Institutional COGIC. Interment will be at Sharon Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in the name of James Driggus, to Delaware Hospice, 911 South DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
