DOVER - James "Ronald" Covey passed away quietly and peacefully on Friday Aug. 22, 2014 at home. Ronald entered the world on Jan. 21, 1942 in Easton, Md. and resided with his family until 1961. Ron graduated from High Point College, High Point, N.C. with a Bachelors in Education. He taught for 30 years in Milford. Ron's loves were traveling, cruising, dancing and eating. The family would like to thank the staff of Delaware Hospice and Dr. Joseph Rubacky for their extraordinary love and compassion. Ron was preceded in death by his father, James Covey; his mother, Cecil Summers Covey; and his sister, Debra. Ron is survived by his wife, Joanne; his daughter, Tara Covey Ortiz and her husband Luis; and by his grandson, Cody Garrett Strehle. A Celebration of Ron's life will be held at noon on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934; where there will be a visitation from 11:00 a.m. to noon. Please come prepared to share your favorite "Ron story" with those in attendance. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901. Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com
