James Andrew Lynch known to most as "Jimmy" or "War Buck", passed away very peacefully at his home in Milford Ponds, on Saturday, July 25 in the early hours. Jimmy was born on January 8, 1951.
He served his country in the Marine Corps, and Vietnam War during 1968 -1970's. He was a very proud member of the Marine Corps family. He was also a member of the VFW and Baptist Church of Milford.
Mr. Lynch started his working early in life at George & Lynch on the black top crew, then worked at Standard Chlorine in Delaware City for over 30 years, and then finally at the Formosa Chemical Plant.
Jimmy was a phenomenal hunter and fisherman and obtained many, many close friends in his outdoor sports. He also was "one wicked Trout Line Crabber". His first crabbing boast was named "The Super Scooper". Jimmy taught many of his friends his knowledge of crabbing and always seemed to catch the biggest boys! Both Jimmy and his wife Terri were active in Harness Racing, owing and training their own Race Horses for over twenty years. Jimmy was also a huge Tom Brady fan. Jimmy was a lifelong welder and Jack of all trades. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix. He was known for his crabby stories of childhood antics and of lifetime experiences, which endeared him to many friends and family.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his son, James A. Lynch, Jr. "Jimbo"; his father, Paynter A. Lynch; and his mother, Barbara Edgington of Lewes.
He is survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Theresa E. Lynch; his daughter, Cassie Lynch (Jake Simonds) of Milford; his step-mother, Joyce Lynch; brothers, Paige (Crystal) Lynch of Houston, and Tad Lynch (Susan) of Milford; sisters, Dawn Petterson and Lysa and older sister Debbie Papaiouanu (Michael) of Hilton Head, Georgia. Jimmy also leaves behind his grandchildren, Haylie Lynch (Matt & Cora), Kayden, Natalie, and Serenity Simonds of Ellendale. Total of eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two nephews. Loved and treasured friends, who have shared his life, along with his many, many, labs, currently Zeva and Remmie and the family cat, Gizmo.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to The Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE.
A Celebration of Life may be held in a few months from now.
