Jacob 'Jake' Ambrose Bishop FELTON - Jacob "Jake" Ambrose Bishop, 73, of Felton, died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at Bayhealth Medical Center, Dover. He was born Feb. 25, 1936, in Dover to the late Oscar and Elnora Richards Bishop. Mr. Bishop, a lifetime resident of the area, was a 1954 graduate of Greensboro High. He was a dairy and grain farmer for many years. He was a member of the Greensboro Methodist Church, the Eastern Shore Threshermen's Association, the Farm Bureau, the D.H.I.A. and charter member of the 1st State Tractor Club. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janet M. Bishop; three sons, Daniel Bishop and wife Joy of Goldsboro, Md., David Bishop and wife Greta, and Dale Bishop and wife Donna, all of Felton; four brothers, Oscar Bishop Jr. of Felton, George P. Bishop of Cheswold, Milton Bishop of Felton, and Louis Bishop of Camden; five sisters, Elnora Jackson of Greensboro, Kate Breeding of Greensboro, Priscilla Bishop of Camden, Alice Bishop of Camden, Ellen Mackey of Greensboro, Md.; 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy Bishop and Edgar Bishop; and one sister, Edith Melvin. Services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 11, at Fleegle & Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W Sunset Ave., Greensboro, where a visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in Greensboro Cemetery, Greensboro. Condolences may be sent via www.fleegleandhelfenbein.com.
