Jack Keeler, 78
SMYRNA - Jack Keeler, 78, of Smyrna, passed away at his home on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, surrounded by his family. Jack was an Ironworker and had owned and operated several businesses such as Masterkey Builders, The Rainbow Inn, and the Boondocks Restaurant. He was also a horse trainer and owned and trained numerous race horses. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion Post #14. He was also a member of the United States Trotting Association. In his spare time Jack loved to hunt and fish, and he took great pride in growing tomatoes. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and Jeff Gordon. He passed his love and passion of training standard bred race horses to all three of his daughters and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his loyal chocolate lab "Hershey," who was with him to the end. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mildred Keeler; an infant son; and three brothers, Vic, George, and Jimmy Keeler. Jack is survived by his former wife and friend, Patricia Keeler of Smyrna; three daughters, Ginger Keeler and her husband Ron Hill of Smyrna, Tina Clark and her husband Bobby of Milford, and Velvet Grace and her companion Jon Ryan of Smyrna; seven grandchildren, Brit Evans of Smyrna, Brooks Noll of Dover, Brady Noll of Smyrna, Kelsey Grace of Smyrna, Michelle Grace of Kenton, Ashley Hoisington of Hartly, and Eric Ryan of Smyrna; three great-grandchildren, Bradley and Max Evans, and Tre Hoisington; two brothers, Robert and Patrick Keeler; and one sister, Kay Wiesner. Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 27, in the Townsend Cemetery, Caldwell Corner Road, West of Townsend.
