SEAFORD - Jack Allen Meloney, age 81, of Seaford, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, in Delaware Hospice Center Milford. Born in Harrisburg, Pa., the son of the late Lillian Wechter and William Meloney, he was a heavy equipment operator for IUOE Union # 542. Jack was a Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Virgil Wilson Post 4961 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Nanticoke Post 6 American Legion, and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1728 all in Seaford. He is survived by his wife, Carol Lovett Meloney; three sons, Bruce Meloney, and Daniel M. Meloney of Seaford, and David P. Meloney of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Linda D. Norsworthy of Seaford; a stepson, Merle L. Whitt of Seaford; a step daughter, Linda C. Jennette of Seaford; two brothers, Richard Meloney of Florida, and David Meloney of Chicago, Ill.; a sister, Kathleen Harriston of Wildwood, Pa.; 21 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Services will be noon, Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at Watson-Yates Funeral Home Front & King Streets, Seaford, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon prior to the service. Rev. Kenneth Deusa will officiate. Committal service will be 2 p.m. in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
