J. Walter Cahall

Millington - J. Walter Cahall, Sr. died July 10, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Cahall was born on July 8, 1927 near Henderson, son of the late John R. and Bessie Hartsock Cahall. As a young boy he lived in Baltimore Corner and at the age of 14 began working on a dairy farm. In 1953 he started farming for himself and in 1967 he moved to his present farm in Chesterville, where he was a grain and dairy farmer. Walter enjoyed collecting antiques. He was a member of Olivet United Methodist Church and Kent County Farm Bureau, where he had served as a trustee. He was a past member of Kent Co-op and Interstate Milk Producers. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by six brothers, William, Clarence, Harvey, Lloyd, Floyd and Charles Henry Cahall. Walter is survived by his wife of 62 years, Myrtle Faulkner Cahall; two children, John W. Cahall, Jr. 'Buddy' of Millington and Janice L. Cahall of Dover, Del.; a sister, Virginia Cohee of Georgetown, Del.; and two grandchildren, Marshal C. Cahall of Millington and Katy M. Camisky of Dover, Del. Friends may call on Tuesday, July 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, Md. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 15 at 11 a.m. in Olivet United Methodist Church, Galena. Burial will follow in Crumpton Cemetery. Memorials may be offered to Olivet U.M. Church, PO Box 107, Galena, Md. 21635
