Iva Ada Thompson

DOVER - Iva Ada Thompson, of Dover, passed away Friday, September 26, 2014, in Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 90. Iva was born, April 26,1924, in Georgetown, to the late, Walter & Estella (Bryan) Tyndall. Iva had a career as a nurse for over 30 years, having worked in Beebe Hospital, Lewes, Delaware Memorial Hospital, Wilmington and Kent General Hospital, Dover, before retiring. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing word puzzles, and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Thompson; sister, Etta Mae Richardson; and brother, Melvin Tyndall. Iva is survived by her three sons, William W. Thompson & wife, YiSuk, of Carlisle, Pa., Jerry Thompson, of Newark, and Kenyon Thompson, of Dover; three grandchildren, Keith Thompson, of San Diego, Calif., Michelle & Lauren Thompson, both of Newark; and two great-grandchildren, Ariana & Isabella Thompson, of San Diego, Calif. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 1, 2014, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave.; where family and friends may gather from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 611 Forest St., Dover, DE 19903 or to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901.
