RALEIGH, N.C. - Isabelle Parker Morris of Raleigh, N.C. formerly of Georgetown passed peacefully on to the loving arms of our lord on Dec. 12, 2017. She was born to Albert and Myrtle Parker on Jul. 15, 1927.
Isabelle had over 90 years filled with love and friendship from family, friends, coworkers, committee mates and neighbors. She will be missed by many.
Isabelle was dedicated to her daughter, Sabrina Morris Stokes, son in law, Michael Stokes and grandson, Thomas Stokes.
She was also very proud of her almost 36 years of service to Sussex County, retiring in 1998 as Chief Deputy, Register of Wills. In addition to being a hard worker all of her life she dedicated much time and energy to many causes. As anyone who ever saw her extensive donkey collection can attest, she was a devoted Democrat and served as a committee woman for many decades. She will also be remembered for her work with Saint Paul's Episcopal Church, Girl Scouts, Georgetown Fire Department Auxiliary, Sussex Central Junior and Senior High Band Boosters, Return Day, and Georgetown Historical Society.
After retirement Isabelle relocated from Georgetown to Raleigh, North Carolina to be with Sabrina, Michael and Thomas. After settling in Raleigh she joined the Raleigh Newcomers Club. From this group she gained a close group of friends. This Gadabout group enjoyed playing cards, making crafts, lunch outings and taking trips and cruises. This brought much joy to Isabelle's retirement years.
Isabelle was proceeded in death by her parents, ex-husband, Bannie Morris and her beloved brother, Ellery Parker.
In addition to Sabrina, Michael and Thomas, she is survived by her sister, Shirley Cheessman, and family, of Pennsville, N.J. and sister in law Hilda Parker, and family, of Georgetown.
The family would also like to thank Sharon Amento for her loving care over the last year of Isabelle's life. She brought much love and comfort.
A visitation will be held Monday, Dec. 18, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 East Market Street, Georgetown. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 122 E. Pine St., Georgetown. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery.
