DAGSBORO - Irene F. Asper, of Dagsboro, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, in the Atlantic Shores Nursing Home in Millsboro. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Janie (Fisher) Figgs. Irene was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church of Dagsboro and the Order of the Eastern Star, Ocean View Chapter. Mrs. Asper and her husband Art formerly owned and operated Arts T.V. and Appliance Store in Millsboro and the Paradise Produce in Dagsboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur E. Asper in 1999. She is survived by her son, George W. Adkins and his wife Peggy; grandson, George Barry Adkins; great niece, Jennifer Willey and her husband Mark; grand nephew, Jerry Figgs and his wife Rosemary; and good friend, Myra Bare. A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services on Thatcher Street in Frankford, where friends may call after noon. Burial will be in Dagsboro Redmens Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in Irene's memory to Bethel U.M. Church, P.O. Box 147, Dagsboro, DE 19939.
