FELTON - Irene A. Peterson, 56, of Felton passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2014 at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. Mrs. Peterson grew up in Bowers Beach, the daughter of the late Herbert and Irene (Hall) Harvey. She enjoyed a little bit of everything and was especially fond of gardening. A very caring person, she looked after a few women in the community and put their needs before her own. She loved her family and friends and would do anything in the world for anybody. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Peterson in 2008 and 4 siblings. She is survived by her two sons, Pete and Leslie Peterson of Memphis, Tenn., and Jason Peterson of Felton; five siblings; and one granddaughter, Charley. A funeral service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, April 24, 2014 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home Main St., Felton, where friends may call after 10 am. Interment will be in Delaware Veteran's Cemetery, Bear, Delaware. She is finally at peace with her husband and her family.
