DOVER - Ian Augustus Alexander, of Dover, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at home. He was 55. Mr. Alexander was born Oct. 4, 1955, in Guyana, to Rudolph Alexander and Gloria Vaughn Alexander. He retired from the United States Air Force after 24 years as a MSgt. His father preceded him in death. Mr. Alexander is survived by his mother, Gloria Alexander of Brooklyn, N.Y.; his wife of 31 years, Chong Pak Alexander of Dover; son, Kevin Alexander of Spokane, Wash.; brothers, Keith Alexander and Leonard Alexander both of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Owen Alexander of Atlanta, Ga. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, RD 5 Box 100 Patriots Way, Millsboro. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at torbertfuneral.com.
