DOVER - Howard R. "Ricky" Sheppard, of Dover, died Sunday, July 24, 2011, along with his father. He was 60. He was born Jan. 7, 1951, in Dover, to the late Howard A. Sheppard and Mary Bell Sheppard in 1998. He worked for 17 years in the maintenance department for Kent General Hospital until 2002. Mr. Sheppard also worked with his father in the family owned business Sheppard and Son Repair. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Arlene "Sue" Garrett, in 2006; and brother-in-law, Ronald Garrett in 2009. He is survived by his daughters, Alicia Hamlin and her husband Kevin of Crosby, Texas, Megan Matherne and her husband Wesley of Porter, Texas; sister, Judy Hegman and her husband Doug of Little Creek; grandchildren, Autumn and Kaleb Hamlin and Wesley and Dylan Matherne; nephews, Doug Hegman, Jr., Michael and Mathew Garrett of Milford; niece, Amy Resh of Dover; and several great nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be 4 p.m., today, July 29, 2011, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior.
